ABSTRACT:
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems currently used by
American businesses are unsuitable for adoption by small and
medium size Chinese businesses. This talk discusses some of
the chief cross-cultural issues including localization and
interface language differences, implementation costs,
culturally-specific management styles, and financial report
format discrepancies. It also presents a case study of using
agile software engineering methods to design an ERP system
that deals with the cross-cultural issues.
