Computer Information Systems (CIS) – Full-time, 12-credit hour teaching load,
which will include the development and delivery of courses in programming,
systems analysis, and data mining for our Computer Information Systems
Department. A Ph.D. candidate with a master’s degree in computer science,
computer information systems, or a closely related field may be considered.
Completion of the doctorate required in order to be eligible for tenure.
Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching and demonstrated
excellence in communication, interpersonal skills, and a willingness to teach at
both the Augusta and Bangor campuses and online. Responsibilities include
teaching introductory and advanced courses in CIS. Preference will be given to
candidates who show expertise in the following areas of programming: Visual
Basic, Java (including mobile applications), C++, and current Web programming
technologies. This position will be based at UMA’s Bangor or Augusta campus.
